GLEN ROCK - Raymond W. Glatfelter, 90, of Rest Haven-York, formerly of Glen Rock RR 2, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Winemiller) Glatfelter.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Jefferson Cemetery in Codorus. A memorial service will be immediately following burial Thursday at Zion "Shaffers" United Lutheran Church, Shaffer Road, RR 1, Seven Valleys. There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Glatfelter was born March 21, 1907, in Codorus Township. He was the son of the late Horace F. and Minnie V. (Bollinger) Gladfelter.
He was a chemist at the Plastic Division Plant of AMP Inc., in Glen Rock retiring in 1969 after 10 years of service. Prior to that, he was a chemist for P.H. Glatfelter Paper Co. for more than 13 years and also worked for other manufacturing companies in the York area.
Mr. Glatfelter is survived by two sons, John H. Glatfelter of York RR 2 and Donald E. Glatfelter of Glen Rock RR 2; a daughter, Naomi E. Berkheimer of York; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and three half sisters, Alleine M. Smith of Shrewsbury, Marian G. Ambrosius of Glenville and Betty J. Taylor of Glen Rock.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley, pastor of Zion "Shaffers" United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys RR 1.

GLEN ROCK - Eleanor (Winemiller) Glatfelter, 87, of Glen Rock RD 2, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Rest Haven-York, where she lived for five years. She was the wife of Raymond W. Glatfelter.
A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday in Jefferson Cemetery. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock.
Mrs. Glatfelter was born in Hopewell Township. She was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Alta (Smith) Winemiller.
She had lived in the Hametown area of Shrewsbury Township prior to moving 15 years ago to Glen Rock RD 2. She was a member of American Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. Glatfelter also is survived by a daughter, Namoi E. Berkheimer of York; two sons, John H. Glatfelter of Loganville, and Donald E. Glatfelter of Glen Rock RD 2; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley, pastor of Zion (Shaffers) United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys RD 1.

SHREWSBURY - George P. Smith, 84, formerly of the Jefferson area, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village. He was the husband of Alleine M. (Gladfelter) Smith, with whom he celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 29, and of the late Lizzie M. (Sterner) Smith.
The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Burial will be in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery. Viewing will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith was born June 22, 1911, in Jackson Township. He was the son of the late E. W. and Lucy (Lau) Smith.
A Codorus Township supervisor for many years, he was employed over 18 years with AMP Inc. as a set-up person at the Brodbecks plant, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Glenville, and was a member of Jefferson Fire Company.
Mr. Smith also is survived by four daughters, Sidney F. McWilliams of Glen Rock, Linda L. Wise of Dallastown, Donna L. Bollinger of Hanover, and Tersie P. Krebs of Glen Rock RR 4; two sons, George E. Smith Jr. of Thomasville, and Janna T. Smith of York; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jennie Thoman of Glen Rock RR 4, Annie Meckley of York, and Mabel Gentzler of Hellam; and a brother, Raymond E. Smith of Hanover.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, pastor of the Lutheran Congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church.

GLENVILLE -- Arthur W. Ambrosius, 80, of Glenville RR 2, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Marian (Gladfelter) Ambrosius. The couple observed their 57th wedding anniversary May 14.
The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Glenville RR 2. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover. Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ambrosius was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Elkridge, Md. He was the son of the late George N. and Edna J. (Fisher) Ambrosius.
He was a farm machinery set-up and delivery person for Sheets Brothers Inc., in Hanover before he retired. Prior to that, he was a delivery person for Hanover Ice Co. He was a member of United Church of Christ congregation of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, where he served on the consistory, and as Sunday School superintendent and teacher for many years. He was a member of Christian Endeavor and served as representative to York County Prison. He was a 1932 graduate of Codorus Township High School and attended Penn State School of Agriculture.
Mr. Ambrosius also is survived by two sons, Richard G. Ambrosius of Spring Grove RR 2 and Ned T. Ambrosius of Hanover; two daughters, Bonnie A. Miller of Hanover and Lana A. Loring of Hayes, Va.; five grandchildren; a brother, David Ambrosius of Glenville RR 2; and three sisters, Ethel Miller of Brodbecks, Ruth Sullivan of McSherrystown and Mildred Porter of Baltimore.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. George O. Butz, assisted by the Rev. Richard C. Weaver, pastor of Lutheran congregation of Stone Church.

She worked for AMP Inc.'s Plastics Division in Glen Rock, retiring in 1985. Prior to that, she worked at the former Guy Hobbs Furniture Co. in Glen Rock and at several local sewing factories. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Arthur Hufnagel Glen Rock Library, Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company and Glen Rock Ambulance Club.
Mrs. Allison is survived by two sons, Jerry L. Allison of Dallastown and Jack L. Allison of New Freedom; five grandsons; a great-grandson; three sisters, Alleine M. Smith of Shrewsbury, Marian G. Ambrosius of Glenville RR 2 and Betty J. Taylor of Glen Rock; and a half-brother, Raymond Gladfelter. Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by a son, Christie L. Allison.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Hugo Schroeder III.

Mr. Allison was born June 29, 1924, in Glen Rock. He was the son of the late Clair R. and Elsie M. (Meckley) Allison.
He was a cabinetmaker for the former Glen Traditional Furniture Co. in Glen Rock, retiring in 1986. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in China, Burma and India. He was a pitcher for baseball teams in Glen Rock, New Freedom, Felton, Dillsburg and Idaville, Adams County, during the 1940s and 1950s. In 1947, he signed a Class C contract with the Gloversville, N.Y., team of the Canadian-American League. In 1950, he signed a Triple A contract with the St. Louis Browns and was optioned to the Wichita, Kan., Class A Western League. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7046 in Stewartstown, Glen Rock Athletic Association and Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Company.
Mr. Allison is survived by two sons, Jerry L. Allison of Dallastown and Jack L. Allison of New Freedom; five grandsons; a great-grandson; and two brothers, Robert L. Allison of Glen Rock and Kenneth E. Allison of Glen Rock RR 1. Mr. Allison was preceded in death by a son, Christie L. Allison.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Hugo Schroeder III.

NEW FREEDOM - Jack L. Allison, 43, of New Freedom, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the home of his mother-in-law. He was the husband of Beth Ann (Thompson) Allison.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hanover St., Glen Rock. There will be no public viewing nor visitation. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allison was born Feb. 18, 1958, in York. He was the son of the late Eugene R. and Gladys E. (Gladfelter) Allison.
He was the owner and operator of Allison Plumbing and Heating in New Freedom; prior to that, he worked at the former Mowery Plumbing in Glen Rock. He was a 1976 graduate of Susquehannock High School and an active baseball coach in Southern York County Youth Athletics.
Mr. Allison also is survived by two sons, Logan K. Allison and Tait R. Allison, both at home; and a brother, Jerry L. Allison of Dallastown.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jacqueline Starz of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Glen Rock.
