      "In 1887, Edmund Miller bought the McCordick place (Lot 39, Range Six) at public auction and lived there for about seven years. He was the son of Jarvis Miller and the former Mary J. Foster and was related to the Millers of Hartland, whence he may have come. His wife was the former Sarah Wright.
      "Once during his stay in Argyle, he was bringing home a load of logs and when he crossed the brook in the Crawford swamp he had a sudden premonition that his house was on fire. He jumped off the load and ran all the way to his place, where he found the house was indeed ablaze. Mrs. Miller had sent the children to the school for help, but her husband was able to put the fire out before anyone else arrived.
"The Millers moved to Monticello, Maine where they are both buried."
Calvin Miller Notes: I have found no connection to the Miller family of Hartland who I believe are descended from Christopher Miller of Canterbury, formerly of Ireland.
