Jesse Beasley's family moved from Wilson County, Tennessee to Greene County, Alabama when Jesse was about 5 years old. Jesse married Elizabeth Roberts in 1828 in Green County. They moved to Choctaw County Mississippi and lived there for many years. They had 14 children. The first two were born in Alabama, the next nine in Mississippi, and the last three in Navarro County, Texas.
