Marie L. Boyer of Route 2, Cadet, departed this life on Thursday, November 19, 1987 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi at the age of seventy six years, ten months, and sixteen days. She was born January 3, 1911 in Old Mines, a daughter of the late Augustus Zeno and Margaret Mary Coleman.
On February 16, 1933 at St Joachim's Catholic Church, Old Mines, she was united in marriage to Roy N. Boyer and six children were born to this union. Mrs. Boyer leaves to survive her loving and devoted husband, Roy N. Boyer of Route 2, Cadet; two sons, William E. "Bill" of Austin Texas, and Charles L. "Chuck" Boyer of Route 2, Cadet; there daughters, Betty ( Mrs. Elmer Eckhoff) of Route 2 Cadet, Carol Kincaid of Imperial, and Judy (Mrs. Bill Cain) of Route 2 Cadet; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve Portell of Old Mines and Anna Pearl James of St. Louis, and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by one son, Lawrence M. "Larry" Blue" Boyer, two grandsons, Anthony and David Kincaid; one son-in-law; Thomas William Kincaid; four brothers, Ernest, Leo, George and Donald Portell; and two sisters, Theresa Boyer and Nazarene McGee Prayer services were conducted Sunday, November 22, 1987 at 7:15 pm at Gum and Son Chapel, Potosi, led by Deacon Wayne Boyer. The Funeral Mass was conducted Monday, November 23, 1987 at 10:00 am at St. Joachim's Catholic Church, Old Mines, with father Ted Pieper the celebrant, assisted by Deacon Wayne Boyer. Interment was in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, under the direction of Gum & Son Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Serving as pallbearers were Scott Cain, Keith Cain, Donald Kincaid, Tracey Eckhoff, Kenny Eckhoff and Billy Joe Cain
