Notes for Daniel DuVal, (Hugenot): He was a Huguenot emmigrant to Virginia in the early 1700's. Born around 1680 in France he married around 1704. After the revocation of the "Edict of Nantes" he became a refugee to England and sailed on board the ship "Le Nasseau" under Captain Tragian on Dec 8, 1700 landing in the York River March 3, 1701. He settled in Ware Parrish in Gloucester County on the North side of the York River in 1704. He was one of the earliest Architects and Jointers in Ware, Abbingdon and Petsworth Parrishes. |
