JACKSON's of NC, TN and MO
My first known JACKSON ancestor is Benjamin JACKSON, b: circa 1790-1800, North Carolina. Benjamin's parents/siblings/spouse is unknown. His first child, Martha Jane was b: Jul 26, 1828, TN followed by sons, William Andrew b: circa 1829 and James Monroe b: Aug 30, 1830. They moved to MO, where 4 more children were born: Melvina circa 1834, Emily D. circa 1837, George Washington Jan 06, 1839 and Lucinda E. 1841. Benjamin and Mrs. JACKSON died in 1847, Caledonia, Washington County, MO and in the 1850 census, Jefferson County, MO. the children are living with Lucinda EVANS, age 66, b: VA. (grandmother?) James Monroe SEABOURNE was the administrator of Ben's probate and also Lucinda EVAN's son, as was Claiborne Walter EVANS. I am also researching George Washington JACKSON's wife's family, Livonia Deborah WHITE b: May 29, 1850, Black Brook, (AuSable Forks) Clinton County, New York. She and George were married in DeSoto, Jefferson County, MO, Feb 18, 1868. I have extensive information on descendants of these families and also on Livonia (WHITE) JACKSON's ancestors. Willing to share. Any new information on either of these families would be greatly appreciated. | JACKSON's of NC, TN and MO Updated February 18, 2001 |
