* Brennans, Stokes and Blackburns*

Updated February 25, 2007

I am researching my English family who originate from Yorkshire and London although there are now families in USA, Australia and New Zealand where I come from. The earliest Milestone we can readily date is Peter Milestone who moved to Seamer near Stokesley around 1860 from Northumberland. There is some evidence that the family originally came from Scotland. I have a large list of names.

My middle name is Brennan and the Brennans came from Darlington although family tails say originally Ireland

I am also searching for my mother's family, Stokes from Somerset and Lewis's from Abergavenny in Wales. Her family the Blackburns have been in New Zealand since the earliest days of European settlers.
