I am researching the following -
JONATHON CRASKE, CATHERINE CARROLL, SUSAN MARY CRASKE, ANDREW PEEBLES WATSON, ANDREW CARROLL WATSON, FANNY FRANCES HOPE, AMOS HOPE, JULIA BEACH, CHARLES RODERICK OLSEN, IVY GRACE WATSON /OLSEN/DUFFY,as well as CLARKE, PRATT, PAXTON, LANG, WYATT,ELLIS. I have now, thanks to the help of Marlene O'Neil, New Zealand found my Paxton/Pratt family and they have been added to the family tree. I am also indebted to Alvin Smith, New Zealand, for all the help with my CLARKE Family.

JONATHON CRASKE was from NORFOLK, UK and was sent as a convict to Australia in 1832/33. He later married CATHERINE CARROLL from IRELAND and became a Limeburner at Pt Nepean, Victoria, Australia. Their daughter SUSAN MARY CRASKE married ANDREW PEEBLES WATSON and they traveled to New Zealand in 1864 with their first daughter Julia and then proceeded to have eight more children.

Their son ANDREW CARROLL WATSON married FANNY FRANCES HOPE who had sailed to New Zealand with her family AMOS, JULIA, ALFRED, AMOS JNR AND ANNIE HOPE aboard the WAITANGI in 1884. They had two more children in New Zealand

IVY GRACE WATSON had a son BRYAN whom she adopted out to WILLIAM and ANNIE REIKE DUNCAN. BRYAN DUNCAN was my father.BRYAN DUNCAN WATSON Married JOAN ISABEL PAXTON. Family rumour has it that the PAXTON'S go back to Sir Thomas Paxton of Berwick-on-Tweed, but I have yet to confirm this. My grandfather JOHN (maybe JAMES)BERESFORD BURRELL PAXTON may have been a schoolteacher. He had two brothers, THOMAS PAXTON and WILLIAM JAMES PAXTON. One of the brothers went to America and the other went to South Africa. I am still researching this. I cannot locate JOHN PAXTON from birth till he married DIANA WILSON in 1895 in New Zealand. Where were you John?? What were you doing up until you were 36 years of age??

On my mother's side, we go back to landed gentry, namely the CLARKE FAMILY of ULLEY HALL, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND. The data for this information was kindly given to me by my second cousin, ALVIN SMITH of Leigh, New Zealand. Thank you Alvin. I also have just received a heap of information re my PAXTONS from a very kind lady, Laurel Paxton, of New Zealand - Thank you so much, Laurel.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a great big thank you to ANN HATHERLY and BARBARA GEEVES for all the research they have done and shared with me for the CRASKE, WATSON lines. If it wasnt for them my family tree would have one tiny twig instead of having grown into the mighty Oak it has become. Thank you too, to RAEWYNE WATSON who opened the first door and invited me in.

Anyone who thinks they may have links to these people are most welcome to contact me.

I have now merged my husband's family into mine and have a new parcel of names I'm researching -
MILLAR/Müller (from the Reichenbach, Saxony, Germany), ALCORN, FEDERER, HARPER, STRIKE, WALTERS and KREY.

The area of these families is mainly S.E. Queensland and Boonah, Queensland, Australia. Once again, if you have any links to any of these people, please dont hesitate to contact me.

The newest addition is my daughter's husband's family, namely the MATHESON Clan, who came from the Isle of Skye to New Zealand.

I have created a Web Site at - if you would like to browse and see more information.
