12. SARAH5 MINEAR (JOHANNES (JOHN) GEROGE(MINEAR)4 MINNIR, JOHANN (HANS) GEORGE3, CHRISTIAN2, WILHELM1) was born 1779 in Tucker County, West Virginia, and died 1839 in Tucker County, West Virginia. She married BENJAMIN MARSH 1799 in St. George District, Randoph County, West Virginia. He was born Bet. 1776 - 1796, and died Bet. 1811 - 1882.

Notes for SARAH MINEAR:
Sarah Minear and Benjamin Marsh's wedding was performed by Robert Maxwell in 1799. On October 22, 1798 David Minear sold his sister Sarah some land on the west side of Clover Run. John Minear (son of John Minear Jr.) sold Benjamin Marsh 149 acres "close to Clover Run". The Marsh Family lived on this vicinity many years; some went to Ohio. Benjamin Marsh sold 149 acres to his son William who later moved to Monongalia County, West Virginia and later moved to California. This information is from Mary Olive Marsh. It is not know where Sarah and Benjamin were buried, but very likely on the old Marsh (later Auvil) place below the mouth of Clover Run.

Notes for MARY ANN MINEAR:
Mary Ann Minear married John Saylor in 1795. Nothing definite is known about them. There is a persistent tradition that Saylor started up Saylor Run, (near St Geroge, named after him), and was never seen again. As to the spelling of the name there is some confusion. In the original marriage record of David Minear are found the signatures of John SAILOR, Lizbeth SAILOR and Fredrick SAILOR, but in all land records the name is spelled SAYLOR.

He married CHARITY GOUGH Aft. 1801. She was born Bet. 1774 - 1801, and died Bet. 1828 - 1888.

Notes for SAMUEL MINEAR:
The date given for the birth of Samuel is 1780. If so, he was about a year old at the death of his father, and was born in St. George, West Virginia. His name does not appear in the early land transactions for he was not old enough. Samuel married Charilty Gough sometime after 1801. He moved to Athens County, Ohio, where many of his descendants now live. His place of burial is not known.
