Whitman R. V. Miner moved to La Salle County, Illinois, Freedom Township in 1840. He was a hotel owner.
Early Settlers of Steuben County (PA): Entry:Whitman R. V. Miner, son of David Miner became a prominent Citizen of La Salle county, Ill. His brother John A. Miner moved to Fayette County, PA in early 1819. He married Mary Marshal of Cheumung County, NY. They had 3 children in Steuben County, NY; Garner, b 3-9-1813, Eliza, b 1/18/1815, Henry M. b 7/2/1817, he died in Norwalk, Ohio.
Amos, the oldest brother returned East, was Known to be in Tongwonk, CN in 1843, was in Bronson, Mi in 1844 and married Ann Rowe in La Salle County, Ill 1845.
David, our subject, married Tabethia Bayaton and had six children: Howland, George, John, Jacob, Lydia, Henry. (This is David III). He continued in the shoemaker trade. He removed to Ithica, NY and later to Auburn, NY where he died in 1837. This biography written by his son George who now lives in Steuben County, NY. David was the founder of the Ithica Arms & Bootery Co. of Ithica, NY.
