I am just starting out trying to find my family roots. My surname is Mion.
My grandfather, Louis A. Mion was the son of Lawrence Mion and Marina Rett and was born in 1882 somewhere in Italy. Previously it was believed he was born in Austria. He came to the U.S. sometime in 1890. He married Laura Burkhart, but at this time I am not sure of the date. Together they settled in the Albany/Schenectady area of Upstate New York.

My mother's maiden name was Taglieri. The best information I have on her family is that my great grandfather was a brick mason and immigrated here from Italy. My grandfather Taglieri married Agnes Murray. My grandmother Agnes was the daughter of Michael Murray and his wife Mary. Michael was born in 1868 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1872.

Any information on the names Mion, Taglieri, Burkhart, and Murray would be appreciated. In the mid to late 20th century they resided in Upstate New York.

I will glady share any information I gather with anyone that may find it beneficial. Email me soon. I'd love to hear from you!!
