Find Family

* The Linebaughs of Murfreesboro, TN*

Updated May 4, 2003

My mother's family has a long tradition in the South, including the states of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. I began the search of my roots on August 29, 1986 before the age of personal computers, dedicating Friday morning each week to comb the Genealogy stacks at the Orlando, FL Public Library. The Linebaugh branch became my first interest because I thought the uniqueness would aid in my search. In reality, it was the most difficult as I hit a wall only 4 generations above my own. I made a journey to Eufala, AL and found the gravesite of H.M. Hunter and copious information about the Hunters and Williams' of the 1800's.

Having exhausted everything the libraries contained, I put away my genealogy notes and moved onto other interests. In 2002, I began my quest anew and found the voluminous plethora of information available to me via the Internet. The Benjamin F. Linebaugh mystery was solved. I have renewed relationships, found lost relatives and discovered far-flung cousins who share my interest in history - our history, our genealogy. This collection is published to share what I have discovered and possibly find more cousins and lost relatives. I look forward to hearing from you!
