Notes for Jesse Lee Davidson: During the depression, Jesse made donuts and Golden Spikes in honor of the railroad and he sold them on the street. They initially lived in Parsons Kansas and he worked in a music store with his son Harold.
Jesse had worked for the Central Coal and Coke Company in Yale, Kansas. Yale no longer exists. Jesse worked as a fireman for the railroad also.He was at his job making sure the coal went in the right cars, when he had hold of the brake , a rod fell and hit him and he fell to the tracks. The train dragged him and his leg was almost completely severed.
He and his wife Bessie used a settlement from the railroad to buy a restraunt in Colorado.There was a day called " Mugs and Jiggs Day " Jesse was famous for his corned beefand cabbage.
Jesse came to Omaha to study at a radio school in how to repair radios. His son Harold came with him. Ruby ( Grandma ) and Velva hitchhiked from Parsons Kansas to be near them.Grandma Ruby and her sister Velva both got jobs at a restraunt called " Red Rose Restraunt " Thats where they both met their husbands.
