| The O'leary Family originally came from Buttevant or Mallow, County Cork during the 1820's. Several went to Australia but most settled in Glens Falls, New York. Although there are several who dispute this, our family history tells us that General Daniel Florencio O'Leary, who was Simone Bolivar's Aide de Camp is a direct relative. Prominent families in this genealogy are O'LEARY, MOYNIHAN, LINEHAN, SINGLETON, BUCKLEY, FARRELL, and CORBETT. The contributions and sacrifices that these families made to this Country over the generations is a fitting tribute to their forefathers. Theirs is a most interesting story of honor and achievement. You may find the stories and genealogies of Grover A. Whalen (Mr. New York) and his brother in law, Jeremiah A. O'Leary to be of great interest. I strongly recommend that you read this web page in book order, starting with the Forward and Introduction. The next page should be the Table of Contents, at which point you select what chapter you want to begin with. Remember to click on the Next Page button to turn the page. If you are in a simply in a hurry to find someone, click on the Index and drill down from there. The charts are helpful but are not easy to use. I understand that FTM is working on this but it will probably take a long time to resolve. I have not yet committed this "book" to print, simply because there is no simple way to reveal all of the data. The computer simply does that better. Accordingly, I am happy to share data with or help anyone who would like more information. Contact me a creuser2000@yahoo.com SBM 12/16/00 |
