Notes for Joseph Alvin Mitchell: There are conflicting data on where Joseph was born. Some data say Feb. 4 1986 in Cassell Ontario. There are official documents that are labeled "Statutory Declaration" that are notarized on Oct 21st 1940. Each document (2) was filled out and signed by either Eliza Jane Mitchell (Mother) or Sidney Mitchell (Father). They state that Joseph was born in O'neil Nebraska on Feb 3, 1895, and "That except for the period from Feb 1919 to the month of November of 1921, that said Joseph A. Mitchell has continuously resided in the USA." This is interesting ....why the conflict.
There was speculation that Joseph was born out of wedlock to Eliza and an American Indian, but there is no proof. I don't believe that anyone should try to uncover this information, Joseph was a great man, may he rest in peace.
