45. National Archives; Washington, D.C.; May, 1998.. His name is indexed as Mizzler. (which appears in the originals as an "r" mistaken for the "s"). Also family tradition had that he served in Wheeler's cavalry. His son William C. told me in 1962 that his father was a forage "boy", was in Joe Wheeler's cavalry, drove a six horse team and worked with the artillery. The records show that Pvt. Mizzles was "absent, with Ramsey's Battery" for the muster roll of May-June, 1864. This was during the Atlanta Campaign (Artillery limbers and caissons were pulled with six horses. Supply,forge and forage wagons normally by four-six mules).

99. HIs parentage is a given in that the 1820 Wilkinson Co. census had only Mark with children less than 10 years old. It is proven that Joseph was born there in Dec.,1819. Later close association with these people would indicate family.
