William left home about 1939 to work construction on Ft.Bragg at Fayetteville,N.C. He lived in the boarding house of Mary Ann McDonald.Her husband also worked at Ft.Bragg.A relationship developed & resulted in a divorce with Susannah & subsequent marriage to Mrs.McDonald.They Moved to Charleston,S.C.

No.51-19 - 28 Aug., 1928 - E.H.Smith & Minnie Smith to Teddie Bennett. $800 for 25 acres North of Long Branch (same tract sold by Geo.Gray to S.G. Bennett in 1914 as No.20-484.
No.75-424 - 23 Sept., 1942 - W.H. & wife Susana Bennett to Geo.B.Ward. $100 for 60 acres near the head of Little River (same tract sold to Wm from his father in 1926). W.H. Bennett appeared before a notary in Charleston, S.C. and Susana appeared in Robeson County, N.C.
No.81-191 - 29 Jan., 1945 - Mrs. Susan Bennett, unmarried, of Robeson County, to Mae Olla Bland, of Brunswick Co. $100 for all her 5/9 undivided interest in and to that land conveyed by George Bennett's heirs, et al, to Mrs. W.H. Bennett by deed 7 Oct., 1939 (tracts of 10, 10 & 100 acres). Did not find this deed of 1939.
No.93-323 - 21 Dec., 1948 - W.H. Bennett and wife Mary A. Bennett, of charleston, S.C. to George Ward of Brunswick Co. $75 for 10 acres in Shallotte township, being lot #6 of the George Bennett estate.

Notes for Susannah Robinson:
After the divorce from William in the mid 1940's Susannah went to work in the Burlington textile mills at St.Pauls to support her children remaining at home.
Susannah recognized June as her birth month. The 1900 Federal census shows her as being born in April, and recorded as 1/12 months old. Enumeration was to have been as of 1 June.
