I must credit most of this research to my parents (Robert Milnor Gleaves and Catherine Anna Glosser Gleaves), my uncle (Edwin Sheffield Gleaves, Jr.), and my aunt (Aurelia Sewall Glosser Taylor). I hope that by posting our family tree, others out there will be able to fill in some of their own blanks. Also, if you have information that we are missing, PLEASE feel free to contact me at SGMobley1@msn.com. In particular, we are missing vital information regarding Alice and Mose Brooks, Mary Langford, Rebecca Jane White, Elizabeth LaMar, John Marquand, Martha Parker, M. Jeff Longmire, and Aurelia Wall. We'd certainly appreciate any help; this is apparently the largest group project in the world...

Updates: We have just located President Thomas Jefferson as my father's 1st cousin, 7 times removed. This line goes from Hazel Hunter -> Elizabeth Bracey -> Mahala Justice -> George Justice -> Frances Jefferson -> Peter F. Jefferson III -> Field Jefferson. Field was the brother of Peter Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson's father. Peter F. Jefferson and Thomas Jefferson were 1st cousins.

It is also our present understanding that President George Washington is my mother's 1st cousin, 8 times removed. The line goes from Junius Rogers -> Selina Pickens -> Henry Wilson Pickens -> Selina Brown Brazelton -> Henry Brazelton -> Hanna Green -> Ann Willis -> Mildred Washington. Mildred was the sister of Augustine Washington, George's father. Ann Willis and George Washington were 1st cousins.

In addition, Meriwether Lewis, of Lewis and Clark, is my mother's 3rd cousin, several times removed.

Of course, in my personal opinion, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were NOT the only great "fathers" in my family tree...

Good luck with your search...
Sharon
