| I am researching the family of Bazaleel HORNISH, also known as B.B. HORNISH (and perhaps occasionally as Ben HORNISH). He was born about July 26, 1820 in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, possibly Iowa but more likely Indiana, or Idaho, according to different sources. *Note that the designation of Ia on an old source, which I originally had taken to mean Iowa, was formerly used as an abbreviation for Indiana. I now believe that Indiana rather than Iowa was indeed meant by the Ia abbreviation. 1. I would like to find out who his parents were, where he was born, and places he lived until his first (I believe) marriage, to Clara COOK in 1844 in Hamilton Co., OH. Also if there were any children of this marriage besides John B. and Laura L., and if so, what became of them, and whether they, John B., and Laura L. have descendants. 2. From Bazaleel’s second marriage to Julia Ann ELSTER in Hillsboro, Highland Co., OH, what became of their son, Jesse E. HORNISH (b. 1873)? Did he die young or did he survive the deaths of his mother in 1873 and father in 1876 and of Bazaleel’s third wife, Judy or Judith BAILEY (death date has been given, without a source, as 1878). (Judith BAILEY married George Roe in 1878.) 3. Lizzie May HORNISH was born in 1868 in Hillsboro, Highland Co., OH, the second child of Bazaleel HORNISH and Julia Ann ELSTER. She was orphaned young, and in 1880 was living with her uncle, Lester A. Elster, in Fayette Co., OH. She went to Independence, KS in 1883. I am seeking information about what she was doing there. Lizzie then moved to Eureka, KS. I am also seeking information on what she was doing in Eureka until her marriage to Charles Edward ST. CLAIR in 1887. I have data on her life after her marriage, but want more on one of her sons, Roy ST. CLAIR. and his wife and descendants. |
