I am researching south and southwest Louisiana Parishes. In Southwest Louisiana, (Lafayette, St Martin, St Landry, St Mary, Calcasieu, and Iberia Parishes) I am searching the following surnames, MERCIER, WILTZ, ESCLAVON (LaVIOLETTE), DeCLOUET, MASSE, JEANLOUIS/JOHNLEWIS, SHAY (CHAIX), GUIDRY, BASILE (CHAISSON), BARRAS, LeBLANC, FONTENETTE and HENRY.
I am also searching in the old Louisiana west Florida Parishes of East and West Feliciana, and East Baton Rouge for the following surnames FORBES, DUNN, CARTER, SCOTT, DeARMOND, EVANS, GAINES, CURRY and PATTERSON.

    This is the last family photo that was taken before Cleveland Forbes, Sr. died on CHRISTMAS dAy 1960. All family members were present except the children and wife of the eldest son.

    Jacque and Marie Angelle married in Lafayette, Louisiana circa 1878. Jacque was the son of Ernestine Shay and an undiscovered father. Marie Angelle was the daughter of DonLouis JeanLouis and his first wife, Celimene DeClouet

    Here are my grandparents. Edgar was born circa 1886 in St Martin Parish, LA. Marie was born circa 1896 in Lafayette Parish, LA. They were married circa 1916
  • Martha Scott Gaines, circa 1930's (62 KB)
    Martha Scott Gaines was the daughter of Henry and Isabell Scott. She was the the Godmother of my paternal grandmother and the sister of my paternal grandmother's mother. She married Wesley Gaines circa 1911 in Baton Rouge, LA and died circa 1967.
  • Cordelia & Dolsin Sellers of Lafayette Parish, LA (34 KB)
    Cordelia was the daughter of Arvilien & Felicia Foreman Catalan. Dolsin was the son of Dolsin & Suzanne Broussard Sellers.
  • Clarra Henri Jeanlouis ca 1900 (33 KB)
    Clarra was my maternal gr-grandmother. She was born in Cade, St Martin Parish, LA. She was the daughter of slaves, Rosa & Norbert Henry and the wife of Jean Jeanlouis.
