* James Carr, born 1756 in Ireland. Immigrated to New Castle, Delaware with his father. Moved to Berkeley County Virginia, where James enlisted in the Continental Army in May or June of 1776. Died in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana in 1842.
* Emily Carr, daughter of Thomas and Elvira, grand-daughter of James and Elizabeth, born Oct 1823 in Clark or Jefferson County Indiana, married William P. Monroe September 20, 1849, in Scott County Indiana. Mother of Pleasant Monroe, born Dec 29, 1845 in Scott County. Did Emily have a previous husband? If so, who? Any thoughts are appreciated.
* Pleasant Monroe - Civil War Veteran from Austin, Scott County, Indiana. Member 81st Regiment of Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Severely wounded and captured at the Battle of Stones River. Served throughout the regiment's career.
* John Thomas Dillehay - Confederate Veteran from McClean County, Kentucky. Member 6th Kentucky Cavalry, CSA. Part of Morgan's Raiders during the Great Indiana-Ohio Raid. Captured at Keyger Creek near Cheshire, Ohio, along with most of the rest of Morgan's Men.
* James C. Willis - Veteran of Philippine Insurrection from Grayson County, Kentucky. Member 21st U.S. Infantry. Served at Fort McHenry near Baltimore, Maryland, 1901-03, after the Spanish-American War. Reenlisted. Saw active service in the Philippines 1905-06.
* John Parker Carr - Seved as Lieutenant in 93rd Regiment of Indiana Volunteer Infantry, including Battle of Jackson, Mississippi, March 14, 1863, during Grant's Vicksburg Campaign. Brothers Noah and Levi also served in this Company. Noah was killed in action at Jackson and Levi was severely wounded.
* Marion Hunt Monroe - My Uncle Hunt. Led a mortar platoon as a First-Lieutenant at Anzio, Italy. Severely wounded by an exploding mortar shell. Winner of the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and other decorations.
