I am researching several lines and at the same time looking for desendants of these same lines. First is the MONROE line of northern New York state. James MUNROE was (b) before June 14, 1825 in New York state based upon calculations from the 1860 Howard Co. Iowa Census. Jane HEWITTwas the daughter of Thomas B. HEWITT and Rosannah INGERSON and was (b) bef June 14, 1834.James MUNROE married Jane HEWITTabout 1851. Their children were:Arabell W. (b) bef June 14, 1852 in New York; George Henry (b) bef JUne 14, 1854 in Wisconsin; Cornelius E. (b) aft June 14, 1856 in Wisconsin and Alice G. (b) bef June 14, 1857 also in Wisconsin.George Henry MUNROE was born 1855 in Wisconsin and married Adelia GOUTREMOUT (b. 1856 Lewis CO.,NY)(Adelia also had a twin sister named Amelia).Their children were Effa (1875), Florence (1877), Aba (1879) and Bert (1880).Bert was born Feb 22, 1880 in NY and died Sept 29,1956 in NY.Bert MONROE was married to Edna Geneva STODDARD. Secondly is the FOX line of central New York state.George Henry FOX was born on 2 June, 1883 in Little Falls, Herkimer County, New York to Fayette FOX and Maryjane BROWN. Fayette was born November 1858 in New York State to Henry FOX (b) abt 1827 in New York according to the 1850 New York State census of Herkimer County.Henry married Selena ??? (b) abt 1840, about January1858 and had the following children:Fayette (b) November 1858, Ida May (b) abt 1861, Franklin (b) abt 1865 and Sylvia (b) aft 1877. Ida May married and ???? JOHNSON and Sylvia married an ???? NEWPORT.Fayette, MaryJane, Florence FOX WELLS and her husband Edward WELLS, Howard FOXand a baby Fayette FOX are all interred in the Ingham Mills Rural Cemetery of Little Falls. The headstone for the baby is relatively new, I know not who had it placed however would like to know as I believe they have more information on the family. This is because I knew of the baby however, did not know the sex or name of it until visiting the cemetery. Another of the lines that I am working on is the CHOPP line of the Upper Peninsula of MI.Specifically, John CHOPP who was born 1880 in Austria to John CHOPP and Vincenza MIHELICH.We know he immigrated September 1903 from Lokve,Croatia, and that he married Annie GASPERICH in Atlantic, MI on 19 May, 1906.Annie was born in 1886 in Manistique, MI to Jacob GASPERICH and Agnes KOCJAN. There are alot of collateral lines that we are keeping our eyes open for, some of which are: IMERSON/EMERSON BERCUME/BURCUME STODDARD A huge thank you goes to Katie Bryant and Sandy Stoddard for information on the Joslin/Stoddard lines respectively.I couldn't have got this far without you!!Additional thanks to Linda Weir for information on the HEWITT line. There will be reports uploaded soon (I hope) so that more can be seen. A MONROE family reunion is held the Third Saturday of every July at various locations in the Jefferson/Lewis County region of New York.IF any readers of this site determine they are related, I would love to extend an invitation for you to come and share information on not only this line but any others that are being researched. If you are considering attending the reunion, please drop me a line for location and time.
