Manfred's family was researched by his father around 50 years ago. The research into Pamela's family began in the summer 2000. Being amateurs in this field, luck nevertheless was on our side. We were just introducing ourselves to the current residents of one of her ancestor houses in Berea, OH. We learned that a stash of documents had been uncovered just two days earlier, during remodeling work, among them a birth certificate of Pamela's great grandfather from Prussia. Just by chance we learned about the probate of the wife to the deceased first owner of this very same house and found pedigrees including 75 individuals, going 4 generations back from Pamela's paternal grandmother. On the GenForum we learned from a dear contact in Tasmania, that a large part of Pamela's maternal grandmother's family, the Montague family branch, had already been researched and well documented. We started out with FamilySearch (LDS), uncovered a lot of information on the Montagu Millennium website, but soon graduated to Burke's Peerage, the Complete Peerage and the Dictionary of National Biography. Lately we have been busy obtaining copies of birth, marriage and death records.
