Notes for TRACIT CATHARINE DEAMUDE: Newspaper Clipping: Mrs. Gracie Fluhrer On Friday, January 27th at Vineland, Ontario, the death occured of Mrs. Gracie Fluhrer, sister of Mrs. E. E. Furry, after a few days illness from pneumonia. Mrs. Fluhrer was born in the Township of South Cayuga, Haldimand County, on August 18th, 1861. She received her education in the school near her childhood home and at Dunnville and Caledonia High School. Six years of her life was spent as a Public School teacher. Her husband, Mr. J. C. Fluhrer, predeceased her two years ago. In her early years she accepted Christ as her saviour and her quiet, devout Christian life has meant much to the sorrowing family and relatives who survive. The funeral, which took place from the family residence on Monday afternoon January 30th was conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. G. Litt of the Campden Evangelical Church, and was attended by a large number of relatives and friends. Her body was laid to rest in the Vineland Cemetery 'neath a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. |

Notes for JESSIE ALICE DEAMUDE: In Memorium Mrs. Jessie Alice Fry Who passed away at the C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia, on Sunday, October 7th, 1951, at the age of 84 years. Survived by five daughters, (Mildred) Mrs. Fred Groombridge, Petrolia, (Ina) Mrs. John Wallace, Sarnia, (Jessie) Mrs. John McGuire, Dawn Township, (Ada) Mrs. William McLachlin, Corunna, (Bella) Mrs. P. H. Sanderson, Dawn Township; three sons, Burton of Eireau, Dwight of Utica, Mich., and Clarke of Lowell, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. E. E. Furry of Simcoe; thirty-one grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren. The Funeral. The late Mrs. Fry is resting at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John McGuire, lot 28, concession 4, Dawn Township, until Wednesday morning, October 10th, when the remains will be conveyed to the Grass Funeral Home, Dresden, for funeral service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Charles R. Gower officiating. Interment will be made in the family plot, in Oil Springs Cemetery. Newspaper Clipping: Dunnville Chronicle: Mrs. Jessie A. Fry The death occured in the C.E.E. Hospital at Petrolia on October 7th of Mrs. Jessie A. Fry, R.R. 2, Dresden, after an illness of four weeks at the age of eighty-four. Mrs, Fry was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Deamude of South Cayuga and was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband predeceased her twenty-nine years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss, three sons, Clarke of Lowell, Mass.; burton of Erieau and Dwight of Utica, Mich.; five daughters, Mrs. P. H. Sanderson and Mrs. John McGuire of R.R. 2, Dresden; Mrs Fred Groombridge of Petrolia, Mrs. John Wallace of Sarnia, and Mrs. William McLachlan of Corunna; also one sister, Mrs. E. E. Furry of Simcoe, besides 31 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. The funeral, which was very largely attended was held at the Grass Funeral Home in Dresden, with Rev. C. R. Gower officiating. A duet, "The Unclouded Day", was beautifully rendered by two friends of deceased. Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Oil Springs. The floral pieces were numerous and beautiful. R. gower officiating. burial took place in Oil Springs Cemetery. There was a large attendance of relatives, neighbours and friends and the floral pieces were beautiful and numerous. |

Notes for CLARISSA MAY DEAMUDE: Newspaper Clipping - Obituary: Mrs. Clarissa M. Robinson The death occured in Dunnville on Monday, April 24th, 1944, after an illness of three weeks, of Mrs. Clarissa M. Robinson, widow of the late John Franklin Robinson, in her 69th year. Mrs. Robinson was born in South Cayuga Township, a daughter of the late John and Sarah Deamude, and her entire life was spent in this district. Deceased was of a retiring nature, but made many friends, to whom the news of her death came as a severe shock. She was a life-long member of South Cayuga Baptist Church, and a member of the Ladies' Aid. She was predeceased by her husband in 1937. Surviving are one son Donald, at home; five daughters, Aileen at home; (Elsie) Mrs. Harold Meadows, South Cayuga; (Evelyn) Mrs. Alec. Crawford, Niagara Falls, Ont.; (Georgina) Mrs. Arthur Bridgett, South Cayuga; (Maizie) Mrs. Kenneth Rittenhouse, Dunn. A stepson, Charles Robinson, of Norfolk, Virginia, USA, predeceased her in 1942. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. Jessie Fry, of Dresden, and Mrs. E. E. Furry, Port Rowan, together with fifteen grandchildren. The funeral was held from the family residence, followed by service and interment at the South Cayuga Baptist Church and cemetery. The services were conducted by Mrs. Robinson's pastor, Rev. Emery Shank. The pallbearers were Gilbert Fathers, Vernon Smith, Gilbert Pridmore, James Cossar, Judson Brown and Cameron Richardson. The flower bearers were Eugene Pridmore, Frank Swayze, Ray Crawford, Harry Clark, Harvey Rittenhouse. The floral tributes were numerous and of great beauty. |
