He married (1) Francis Nicholes. He married (2) Gertrude V. Rhoades 21 August 1963 in Raton, New Mexico.

Notes for Virgil Wayne Cooper:
Virgil Wayne Cooper, son of John and Millie Mart Cooper, was born November 23, 1914 at Morton Mills, IA. He grew up in Farragut, where he attended school. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army.

In 1946 Virgil moved to the Blockton, Iowa vicinity where he farmed and drove a truck until moving to Colorado in 1962 where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator in the construction business.

On August 21, 1963 Virgil was united in marriage with Gertrude V. Rhoades at Raton, New Mexico. They made their home in Colorado where Virgil had lived ever since.

Virgil was a member of the V.F.W., Amvets, and the American Legion.

Virgil died Sunday, March 29, 1981, at ST. Anthony's Hospital, Denver, Colo. at the age of 66 years.

Services were conducted from the United Methodist Church in Farragut, Iowa on April 2, 1981, The Rev. Carl Klein officiating.

Interment was in the Farragut Cemetery, Farragut, Iowa.

Notes for John Wesley Cooper:
John Wesley Cooper of Fort Collins, Colo., the son of John T. and Millie Mart Cooper, was born on July 2, 1917 at Morton Mills, Iowa and died on June 1, 1976 at Grape Community Hospital, Hamburg, after an illness of several months.

He was raised and educated in the Farragut area. On June 14, 1942, he was united in marriage to the former Lorna Jean Ware of Riverton.

He served in the United States Army for four years during World War II in the European theatre. After his military service, they moved to Farragut where they lived until moving to Colorado in 1951 where they resided until the time of his death. He was employed in long distance trucking for many years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eaton, Colo., the Lafayette Lodge, No.91, A. F. &A. M. of Lafayette, Colo., Colorado Consistory No. 1(Scottish Rite); the El Jebel Temple Excelsior Chapter, No.66, Order of the Eastern Star, Lafayette, Colo.; and the Tri-City Colorado Lodge (Elks) of Louisville, Colo.
