 Includes NotesNotes for William Hart:
William Hart was a British soldier. He had a large family, bringing his children to America after the War of 1812.

We do not know whether George Palmer married into the Hart family before coming to America, but we do know that they were a close knit family and lived in the same Baltimore, Maryland area. (They were married in Baltimore, Maryland)

William and his wife remained in Kent County, Maryland after their children moved westward to Virginia, now West Virginia. They felt they were too old to find new roots.

William was the son of William and Mary, was Christened in St. Marys Church in Oakley, Bedfordshire, England. He embarked from the port of London, England between 3/28 and 4/5/1774 for Maryland on the ship Diamond. He was listed as 27 years of age, a carpenter and joiner by trade and came as an indentured servant for a period of four to six years. William could have possibly served in the Revolutionary War.

William married Mary Currier (2/4/1770 - 5/12/1849) and they settled in the Mine Run Hundred of Baltimore County, Maryland. Mary was the daughter of William (1730 - 1794) and Martha Currier and had known siblings William, Martha, Elizabeth and Penelope. William Currier was born in London, England and was transported to Annapolis ,MD on the ship Greyhound in 1753 as an indentured servant.

Several Baltimore Co. land deeds are recorded in William Harts name, the earliest being in 1785. William is listed in the 1790 MD census as head of the family with one male under the age of 16 and three females. William is probably buried in Baltimore Co., MD near their home in the former Mine Run Hundred. Mary is buried in the Cherry Grove Cemetery, Wetzel Co., WV.

William's will is dated December, 1822 and is recorded in the Baltimore Co., MD records.
