Wednesday, Dec. 22d ------ Snows, & Blows, & is very Cold. The snow has fallen considerable Depth, & is Much Drifted. Clears in the fornoon, ......... I am bidden to Mr. Joseph Bangs Weddin, tomorrow, at 5 O'Clock in the evening.

Notes for Conrad Ryer:
From Shelburne County Genealogical Society 1995:
Beverly (Ryer) Huddleston through contacts she had while her husband was serving with the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany was able to document the birth, baptism and parents of Konrad Reyer. Proof was also found that Conrad had deserted in New York (as family tradition had recorded) see notes on file from Hessian State Archives. The 1787 assessment for Shelburne County Ryer Henry (Conrade) with property on Wright's Road, Shelburne. The 1791 poll tax shows Conrad a carpenter in Shelburne. A document at PANS RGI Vol 224 titled "Names of Poorest and Most Distressed Suffers of Fires 1792" includes Conrad Ryer aged 35, wife aged 22 with 4 children the oldest child being 9 years of age with residence given as near Shelburne. Note Conrad Ryer was christened Johann Konrad Reyer.

The Shelburne County Genealogical Society idetifies this John McKenzie as a loyalist.
Biographical Sketches of Loyalists of the American Revolution Vol II, page 67, by Lorenzo Sabine has the following:
McKenzie, John. Of New York. During the war he commanded a vessel under the Royal flag, and was engaged in transporting supplies for the King's troops. He removed to Shelburne, Nova Scotia, at the peace, and died at Liverpool, in that Province, in 1825. Five children survived him.

Mary was from Baltimore (Sabine) - her granson, John, recorded her death date. She is living with her son Allen and his family in the 1871 census. Her father settled for about ten years at Sable River.

Notes from Shelburne County Genealogical Society 1995:
married 1 Eleanor Crocheron, 2 Catherine Sophia Dexter Bower. He was a farmer, living at Jordon Bay. Birth date according to 1871 Shelburne Census p. 51 - age at death 84 years. The son of Duncan MacLean who was the drummer for 76 Scotch Highlanders Regiment. Many disbanded soldiers of that regiment came in the late fall of 1783 to Shelburne. his mother was "widow Anderson" and he had at least one brother William. The 1871 census shows his birthplace as McLeans Island. the Island is so named today and lies in Jordon Bay - a road goes from the mainland.
