This marker is on the site of the Files Massacre near present day Beverly, Randolph County, West Virginia. The massacre occured in 1753 some time after the Files and Tygart families had settled in the wilderness of old Virginia.

This is a picture of my grandmother and my daddy taken about May 1925. My grandfather, Fowler Moore had been killed by then and this was probably the last picture taken of Minnie before she committed suicide. She was 19 years old and her husband had been killed in an oil field accident just three months previously. This photo was contributed by Janie Lindsey Allmon, daughter of James Leneoul Lindsey.

Jimmy is the son of Marshall Masterson "Curley" Lindsey & Bertha Ella (Dodds) Lindsey, Bevil is the son of Arthur Denton Lindsey, Jr. and Jesse (Harding) Lindsey, and William Fowler Moore is the son of Fowler Moore and Minnie (Lindsey) Moore.
