Moorman - Kendall Home Page

I am researching my husband's ancestry. His immigrant ancestor was FERDINAND MOORMAN from Dummerlohausen, Duchy of Oldenburg to St. Maurice, IN, ca. 1862. He married CATHARINE HINNENKAMP, 28 Oct 1863 in Oldenburg, IN. Thanks to cousins in Ohio, I have Ferdinand's ancestry back to HERMAN MORMAN of Dummerlohausen, b. prob. bet. 1625-1635, d. bef. 25 Aug 1670, m. 17 Oct 1655,MARGARETA WOLEKING. Other surnames include STALLO, KLEIN, PAUL, and PRICE.

On the maternal side, I have traced my husband's ancestry back to JACOB DICKASON, who first appears on the 1782 tithe rolls for Hardy Co., (now) WV. He is said to have died near Washington Court House, OH, at an advanced age. Other surnames include MILLER, WHITE, WILSON, McANTEE, DOCKERY, APPLE, KNULL, RIKER, and CUSTENBORDER.

we are descended, on our father's side, from JAMES KENDALL/KINDELL/KINDLE, b. 1783, Fairfax Co., VA, and MARY POLLY LOCKHART, b. ca. 1795, Shenandoah co., VA, daughter of DAVID LOCKHART; and on our mother's side from JOHN BROWN, b. 9 Jul 1774, VA, d. 7 Dec 1830, Quail Creek, Rockcastle Co., KY, and ELIZABETH WILSON, b. 29 Mar 1783, VA, d. 17 Sep 1856, Quail Creek, Rockcastle Co., KY. Other surnames include SMITH, HARBORD, McKEE, CULLINS, STEWART, CRICKENBARGER, GANGIVER, LAWRENCE, GARNER, PRICE, WHITE, O'SHAY, FOLLIS, FLEMING, DOOLIN, GASTINEAU, MERCER and WESTERMAN.

The information I have is the result of, not only my own research, but that of two of my sisters, numerous cousins, and many other researchers. I am deeply appreciative of their hard work and their great generosity in sharing this information with me.
