| When my parents passed away in the 1980's I wanted my children to know their roots and since I really didn't know all that much about my fathers family I started researching and got the bug. My father William Howard King came from Tennessee born in a rather small town called LaFollette in Campbell County. He was born in 1922 and moved to Ohio in the late 40's where he worked at Frigidaire he then meant my mother Jacqueline Glander and they were married in 1961 at this time he worked at Dayton Glass Service until 1970 when he had a heart attack and was retired. My mothers father's family came to Ohio by route of New York from Germany in the 1840's and they settled in Preble County Ohio and my grandfather Richard Glander meant my Grandmother Gladys Mae Rice who's family as far as I can trace came here from Greene Coutny PA by way of Holmes County Ohio. I meant and married my husband in 1983 and his family if from Butler County, Ohio his grandfather Charles Lay came to Cincinnati to work at Fisher Body after working years in the coal mines in Kentucky he was born and raised in Knox County Kentucky where he meant his wife Cynthia Hamilton. Their daughter meant and married her husband who was also from Kentucky and his parents George Rodney Moore married Mildred Opal Marsee. When I started this project I just wanted my kids to know a little more about their roots I didn't realize that I would still be digging to see where those roots lead and now with over 1200 people in my tree I am still (as my husband calls it) digging up bones. This tree is for my parents William Howard and Jacqueline Glander King. |
