William Steve Lay, age 73, born in Knox County, May 10 1894, the son of the late Lewis J. and Jane McCoy Lay died at his home 11 Aug. 1967. In 1913 he married Pearl Golden. In Jan. 1962 he married Margie Brown. Survivors include his wife Margie Lay, Artemus; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Miller, and Mrs Sarah Evans, three sisters, Mrs. Mary C. Hampton, Mrs. Cora Partin and Mrs. Mayme Stewart; one brother John F. Lay; twelve grand children and nine great grand children. Funeral services was conducted at Liberty Baptist Church Sunday Aug.13. Internment was in the Lay Cemetery with the Hopper Funeral Home in charge.
