"Known by all men present that we, Elias Jordan, Aaron Neal and his wife
Nancy(Jordan), Reuben J ordan, Francis Jordan, Thomas Jordan, Chisum Estes and
his wife Mary (Jordan) Thomas and his wife Alice (Jordan) and James Jordan
heirs and devices of Thoma s Jordan the elder, the father of Elias, Nancy,
Reuben, Francis, Mary, Alice, Thomas and James departed this life in the month
of Feb last (Feb 1815), leavi ng by will a tract or tracts of land.
William and Joseph are to sell, dispose of and deliver up in all our names and
on all behalf all the said real estate. Our hands offered to seal in County of
Gallatin, aforesaid this 11 day Sep 1 815.
Thomas Jordan Sr was and Elder in the Baptist Church. He was a sergeant in
Captain Moore's 3rd Company, Miltia of Illionis Territory (Indian Wars of
1810-1813). He was a viewer to build a road (formerly a trail) from
Shawneeto wn to Kaskaskia, Illinois. He built a fort from 1808 - 1811 on the
Franklin C ounty and Williamson County line, south of Thompsonville, IL.(Harley

He was buried in the Old Jordan Fort Cemetery. in the 1930's the Illinois central Railroad laid their tracks through the cemetery so they moved the markers. I have pictures of the markers in my book.
