The Wilson side of the family has been easy to trace as far back as the middle of the 1700s.

Significant roles in the development of Cleveland County, where the city of Shelby, North Carolina is located, can be traced to some prominant family members.


The Moore's have been traced --including the most recent generation-- for five generations. The names Padgett, Blanton, and Green appear and are said to have Cherokee Indian heritage. This fact has not been proved as of yet; however, I do have pictures of those relatives and they do appear to have Indian ancestory.

I will share any information that I have, and would appreciate any information to speed along my search into the past. I am particularly interested in the Cherokee ancestory.
