Notes for Elizabeth Faisans: Baptismal record for Elizabeth Fesan reads: FESAND, Ysavel (father Juan, native of Peau in Beard-Pau in Bearn, deptof Pyrenees-Atlantique - of the French Republic, and Francisca Jacob Vinque @ Binque), native of this city, both residents of this city, baptized February 8, 1802, born August 27, 1801; paternal grandparents Juan Fesand and Marie Juana Pontac; maternal grandparents Santiago Vinque and Marta Pedor Paquet, sponsors Juan Gourage and Felip Fasende ( Source: Archdiocese of New Orleans Sacramental Records, Volume 7, 1800-1803).
The death certificate for Elizabeth Fesand-LeGros (1862 Orleans Parish Death index, Volume 23, page 43) states the following: "Be It Remembered that on this day to wit: the Tirthieth of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-two and the eighty first of the Independence of the Confederate State of America, before me, Pierre Lacoste duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally appeared- Mr. Manuel Marquez a native of New Orleans, aged twenty-four years, residing on Bayou St. John New Orleans, who hereby declares that Widow Elisabeth Fesant a native of New Orleans, aged sixty years, died in this city on the sixth instant (Jan 6th 1862). Deceased was lawfully married with Jean Marquez and leaves ten children. Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Manuel Marquez as also in that of Messrs. Gustave Roux (?) and (?) Garci (?), both of this city witnesses by me requested to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me after due reading hereof, the day, month and year first above written".
