Descendants of William Pride

Generation No. 1

1. William¹ Pride was born Abt 1638 in England, and died Bef March 03, 1722/23 in Henrico County, Virginia. He married Jane.

Notes
Surry County Records, deposed in 1668, that he was age 30 or thereabouts.

We know that his wife's name was Jane from a Patent wherein he was granted land for the transportation of 26 individuals, including himself and his wife, Jane.

I believe that their son, William Pride, was probably the William Pride who married Anne Clark Hill instead of the William Pride whose wife was, Amith, because I believe that the second William (wife, Amith) was too "young" to be the child of William and Jane Pride. Accordingly, I have placed William and wife, Anne Clark Hill, here as the son of William and Jane Pride.

Due to the fact that a number of descendants carried the name, Halcott, I believe that the maiden name of William's wife, Jane, might have been Halcott.

Children of William Pride and Jane are:

+	2	i.	John² Pride, died Bef February 1742/43 in Henrico County, Virginia.
+	3	ii.	Halcott Pride, died Bef October 05, 1725 in Henrico County, Virginia.
+	4	iii.	Winifred Pride, born Abt 1672 in Virginia; died November 25, 1729 in Bristol Parish, Henrico County, Virginia.
	5	iv.	William Pride. He married Ann Clark Hill.
