Chesterfield County, VA Wills 1774-1802 by Benjamin B. Weisiger, III. Will of William Lockett, dated November 2, 1794. To Joseph Akins' four children he had by his first wife: William, Ann, Joseph and James, 1 negro To Josiah Lacy and Mary his wife, land and plantation they live on, 75 acres, bounded by Maj. John Hill, Capt. John Farmer, for life and then to Joshua Lacy, son of said Josiah and Mary Lend to William Hill and Jane his wife, land and plantation they live on, 111 acres, and then to William Hill their son. To Elisha Baley, son of James Baley and Elizabeth his wife, 68 acres in Chesterfield County bounded by Maj. John Hill, William Walthall, Lawrence Flournoy and Elizabeth Cheatham. to daughter, Phebe Lockett, land I live on, 81 acres, but if she dies without heirs, then to Thomas Briggs, son of John Briggs and Ann his wife; and my daughter Edith Lockett to have lifetime in said land and houses. To daughters Ann Briggs, Phebe Lockett and Edith Lockett, a feather bed each. To grandson James Akin, a feather bed Rest of estate divided among my daughters Mary Lacy, Jane Hill, Elizabeth Baley, Ann Briggs, Phebe Lockett and Edith Lockett. 35. John⁴ Pride (William³, John², William¹) was born Bef October 04, 1749, and died Bef February 08, 1796 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He married Priscilla Baugh, daughter of Peter Baugh.

Order Book 6, page 439, Chesterfield County, Virginia. John Pride on his motion, certified as eldest brother and heir at law to William Pride and Thomas Pride, deceased, late of Chesterfield (6 June 1783).

Will Book #4, pages 606-609, Will of John Pride, dated November, 1795, Codicil, dated November 26, 1795. To son Thomas, plantation I live on; and if he dies without heirs, to my son John Alexander Pride. I lend to my 4 daughters Sally, Elizabeth, Priscilla and Susanna Pride for life or until marriage, the use of above plantation as a home. To my 2 sons John Alexander Pride and Thomas Pride, my plantation "Frogpon." To son Peter, my tract on north side of Staunton River in Charlotte County I purchased of Markus Gibbon. To daughter in law Rebeckah Pride, 1 negro. To son James, 3 negroes. To 3 sons Peter, James and John, my land in Kentucky. To daughter Sarah Pride, white horse. Executors: James Pride, Capt. Jesse Cogbill, Hill Cogbill. Codicil: "Frogpon" plantation to include lower part of 600 acres to James Pride and John Pride. To son Peter, 127 acres adjoining Capt. John Hill. 40. Edward Mitchell⁴ Pride (William³, John², William¹) was born November 30, 1755, and died February 07, 1839 in Franklin County, Alabama. He married (1) Elizabeth Kearne April 16, 1778 in Warren County, North Carolina, daughter of Shimuel Kearne. He married (2) Sarah High October 09, 1781 in Wake County, North Carolina.
