Michel Bernard (son of Jean Baptiste Bernard and Cecile Gaudet)²³⁷ was born Abt. 1734 in Beaubassin, Acadia^{238, 239, 240}, and died 31 August 1809 in St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, LA²⁴¹. He married Marie Guilbeau on 25 January 1761 in Ristogouche, Nova Scotia²⁴², daughter of Joseph Guilbeau and Madeleine Michel.
