This is a copy of the original petition, now in the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador, for rights to a fishing room in Caplin Bay, now Calvert. Transcript in Notes. An original copy, made at the time of the application, for retention by Matthew, has since come to me through the generosity of Karen Chapman, who inherited it from her mother, Jean [Morry] Funkhouser. It will ultimately be donated to The Rooms in St. John's for preservation.
