This is the official wedding photograph taken in Edinburgh on June 02, 1915. Howard met Fredris while in Edinburgh on training with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment prior to the regiment heading overseas for engagements in Gallipoli, Beaumont Hamel and elsewhere in France.
