This photo shows the house that Howard Leopold Morry built over the foundation of the old Holdsworth house after it was torn down in the early 1900s. The Holdsworth house had fallen into ruins due to a condition in the will of John Henry Morry that prevented Howard's father, Thomas Graham Morry, from taking possession of his inheritance and maintaining it while his maiden sisters remained alive and unmarried. They refused to allow him access to the house, though neither of them lived there, because he had married a Roman Catholic against their wishes. Unfortunately they outlived both him and the house.
