2. JOHN JOSEPH² ZENDER (JACOB GEORGE¹) was born July 08, 1846 in Pickliesser, Bitburg, Germany, and died August 14, 1925 in St James, Watonwan County, Minnesota. He married KATHERINE GALL March 20, 1876 in St James, Watonwan County, Minnesota, daughter of MICHAEL GALL and MARY ??.

Notes for JOHN JOSEPH ZENDER:
John spent his boyhood in Germany where he was educated in public schools. He sailed to America August 10. 1871 and located in Chicago, IL. He remained there until April, 1872 when he went to Faribault, MN for a short time. He then went to Scott County, MN, locating 7 miles south of Jordan, MN. He stayed there about seven months and then went to Watonwan County, MN and bought a homestead right of 160 acres to which he added to make a total of 700 acres of valuable farm land. 200 acres in St James township and 500 acres in Butterfield township. He carried on general farming and livestock raising on an extensive scale until he retired in 1913 and purchased a fine home in St James, MN. He was a stockholder of the Farmers Elevator Company.
