In Memory of Edwin Benton Morris b:10\15\1926 d:2\25\2003
My father Mr.Edwin Benton Morris age 76, passed over on Tuesday February 25th, 2003 in Tampa, Florida. His passion for documenting our family genealogy and the many conversations we had will be greatly missed by me. In his memory our family tree is still growing.

As Americans our Love for God and Country is just as strong today as it was when our ancestors fought and died for the belief in Freedom for all people. This site is dedicated to all those brave American's who have and will be defending Our Country and the free world. May God Bless America!

The following names are a portion of the 1,600+ names in my family tree data base.
William Sherman Keafer, Wife Margaret Alice Courter, William Morris, Wife Sarah Crooks,William Crooks Morris & Wife Esther Tullis,Thomas Benton Morris and Wife Angeline Harrod, Arthur Benton Morris and Wife Lou Anderson. Isaac Anderson Sr. & Wife Euphemia Moorehead, Fergus Anderson and Wife Mary F. (Polly)Dick,Robert F. Anderson and Wife Mary Ellen Graves. Samuel Dick and Wife Martha Allen Gillespie, James McManaman and Wife Mary Morris and many other descendents.

William Morris Sr., Isaac Anderson Sr. & Samuel Dick Sr. were some of the early Pioneers of Butler & Hamilton County, Ohio before 1800. William Morris Sr. served our country in the War of 1812. Isaac Anderson Sr. and Samuel Dick Sr. served in the Revolutionary war. Isaac Anderson Sr. also served under the command of George Rogers Clark on the expedition to the Falls of the Ohio and is documented by historical documents and his diary. He was captured by the Indians at the Lochrey Creek massacre in Dearborn county, Aurora, Indiana on this expedition.

Others of my ancestry are Elihu Pennington & Wife Nancy Casteel from Kentucky & Indiana and descendants of the James K.Polk Hurst and Wife Minta Cope family of Kentucky & Tennessee.

The following are a partial list of my wifes ancestory and includes the names of Stacey Sleeth and wife Nancy Elizabeth Allen,Oliver Perry Sleeth and wife Jane Moore Eldridge from Indiana and Clarence Everett Mann and wife Ethel Gladys Sleeth,John Mann & Wife, Abel H.Mann & Wife Susan Harter in Crawford county, Illinois. Others names included are the Phillippe's, Simons, McCarter's and Weirich's who lived in Crawford County, Illinois,Indiana & Pennsylvania. I'm currently researching more information on all parts of these ancestors in the family. Any additional information from others will be greatly appreciated! More photos will be posted as time permits in the near future.

NOTE:Additions will be made to my Grandmother Mabel Chloe Morris nee Keafer's line of ancestry. Here are some of the names: William Courter & wife Laura B.Moody\William Sherman Keafer(grave has now been located) his wife Margaret Alice Keafer\Mericle nee Courter. The descendant files will be changed in the near future! New information on these lines has just been found in Dearborn county, Indiana and is currently in the process of being updated. Some new names connected are Fritsch\French and is the maiden name of the mother of Laura B. Moody mentioned above. Please visit back in the near future for the updates and some photos.

  • Isaac Anderson Sr.(1st Bridge) (122 KB)
    This is the first bridge built across the Great Miami river East of Venice (Ross) Ohio, Butler county. Isaac Anderson Sr. and 3 others formed the Colerain Bridge company and were awarded the contract from the State of Ohio to erect the covered bridge around 1824 (Butler County History). The shares in the bridge were left to his sons in his Last Will and Testament in 1840. The photo is was copied from the picture displayed at the Venice Castle in Ross, Ohio.
