| Peter Morris Qutow (also Quitow, Quittow, Quatoo, and other variants) was born about 1830 in L'Assomption, Quebec, Canada, and reportedly died on the Plains near the Platte River while traveling to Montana from Iowa in about 1868. He married Ann Purcell in New York in 1852; she died in Los Angeles in 1904. Their descendants have all gone by the name of Morris, as did Peter himself shortly after emigrating to the United States. |
