I am researching four lines at present. First, I am lookin for the ancestors of my grandfather, WILLIAM HENRY MORSE, born in Yell County, Arkansas, February 14, 1875, andd died in Sallisaw, Ok. on June 1,1953. He married my grandmother,SUSAN (Anna or Elizabeth)TIMMER, born in Lexington, Jackson County, Mississippi, July 1, 1874. They were married February 24, 1895, in the Cherokee Nation (now the State of Oklahoma). She died in Anadarko, Caddo, Ok. in 1957. GEORGE WALLACE MORSE's [G. W.] ancestors emigrated from Massahusetts to Louisianna duriing the period between 1800-1812. Later, the family moved to Arkansas (then part of the Louisiana Territory)where his father, William Henry MORSE[W.H.}, was born. The HENRY MORSE (FATHER OF W.H.) family had two other sons (at least): John A.(B. 1825), and James A.(B. 1843). All three brothers served in Company F of the Arkansas Third Cavalry of the Union Army during the Civil War. Their enlistment date was 14 Oct. 1863 from Yell County. The HENRY MORSE FAMILY moved to the Cherokee Nation in 1886, approximately. CORNEALEUS(?) TIMMER'S FAMILY, originally from Holland, emigrated from Pennsylvania via Kentucky to Mississippi between 1790 and 1810. Most of the TIMMER and some of the GARRARD families moved to the Cherokee Nation (Now Oklahoma)after the Civil War. W. H. MORSE'S parents were Henry Morse and Mathilda Rice, Birth and death dates and birthplaces UNKNOWN. His wife, SUSAN TIMMER's, parents were PHILLIP TIMMER [Birthplace and Birth date Unknown] and LOUISA (Mathilda)MALENDA GARRARD. She was born in Lexington, Holmes, Mississippi and had a twin brother, SAM. The twins were known as 'Cap' and 'Scrap' as children. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION on these two lines, (four names listed) would be doing the Morse family a great service if you would write me at this name & address: D.
