Joshua Carey and Cordelia Waters of JACKSON COUNTYMissouri married in JANUARY 1881. They had at least one son ENOCH ARCH CAREY born in Feb 1889. Arch Carey married MENTIE (MINNIE)RAMSEY daughter of Charles Calhoon Ramsey. She was born in Oklahoma in 1898. Her mother was Sina L. "Sara" Johnson. Arch and Mentie went on to have 10 children at least some of their children were born in Texas. The last born were twins Vurner (Big Boy) and Vernon (Shorty) in August 1929. Other children were Carl, Virgie, Darrell and Arvel. Mentie died in 1942 in Gray County Texas and Arch died in Feb 1953 in California. Vernon (Shorty) died in California in 1959 (age 29) and Vurner died in Texas in 1984. Would like to know what happened to the other children. Carl was living in Barstow, Calif in 1959 after that he was lost to the family. Other children born to Joshua & Cordelia Waters were Ida Carey, Cora (Annie) Carey, Charlotte (Charlotta Jane) Carey, Charley Carey, John Carey and Sarina Carey. |
