| I am researching the Morgan family. My great-grandfather was James Morgan. He had 2 wives, the first was Nellie White and his second was Ellen Rennie. (Widow of a Woodside). James brought his sons by Nellie to Canada around the turn of the century. Most settled in Manitoba. He also had brothers in Canada as well.They came from Ireland. James went back to Ireland and married Ellen and had two more children, Jean and Hugh. They lived in the Dervock area, I think. I am also looking into my mother's side - Hemming. Some of her relatives include Torgersdotter, I think. Again, emigration from Sweden or Norway took place around the 1900's. And on my wife's father's side I am looking for Findlay. The have been in Canada for a long time. A number settled in Echo Bay area of Ontario, near Sault Ste. Marie. I think they originated in Scotland. |
