The Ords of Illinois

I'm a new hobbyist, interested in researching my father's family, the Ords of Illinois.

Tom, my father, was the son of Charles Winifred Ord and Nancy Elizabeth (Wells or Welles) Ord. He married rather late in life, and as a consequence, I barely knew my father's relatives, except as a young child. I have little information, as yet, to share, except my father's statement that "General Ord in the Civil War was a cousin". My curiosity now leads me to dig back in old records and see if that statement was accurate.

Of course I'll be more than happy to share any information I find.
