My Paternal lines consist of the Cumberland County, Kentucky branch of the MORGANs; the Indiana/Illinois branch of the NICHOLSONs; the North Carolina branch of the McFARLINs; the Virginia/Kentucky branch of the BRISTOWs. My grandfather, RICHARD MORGAN, married MARY ALICE NICHOLSON in Creelsboro, KY in 1885 and they traveled to Moody, Texas where they made their home. Richard's father was NATHANIEL MORGAN, JR. and his mother was PRUDENCE JESSE BRISTOW. Mary Alice's father was JAMES L. NICHOLSON and her mother was MARY E. McFARLIN. Mary E. was married 3 times -- first to a Henry Aaron in Kentucky (he died during the Civil War), second to James Nicholson in Clark County,Illinois (he died in 1868) and thirdly to Joseph Hammond in Kentucky. More information on these families is contained in the other files at this site. My Morgan & Bristow files are not complete enough to be included here at this time. My main interest here is more information on the Bristows. I have not been able to determine the parents of Prudence Bristow.
My Maternal lines are all German -- STEINMANN/JAEGER of Saxony; STAHMER of Holstein; THIEL/JASTER of Posen, Prussia. Andreas STEINMANN married Caroline JAEGER and the family came to Texas in 1846; Franz STAHMER married Anna (maiden name unknown) and the family came to Texas in 2 sailings -- the father and a son in 1850, the mother and 3 children in 1851; Daniel THIEL married Christine JASTER and they came to Texas in 1860. All settled in the Fayette County area. Information on these families is/will be in the additional data at this site -- Steinmann, Jaeger and Stahmer are in the STEINMANN file, Thiel and Jaster are in the THIEL file. My main interest here is finding additional relatives and in information from their life in Europe.
If you think you belong in any of these lines, send me a note and let's pursue it!
