My GGGG Grandfather came from Scotland in 1740c , he lived
on the Yadkin River in North Carolina . Grandfather Archibald
married a Miss Fooks . They had 3 children while living in North
Carolina . Grandfather and his brother ( name unknown ) fought
for the Continental Army during the American Revolution . The
two brothers got seperated during the war , never to see each
other again . Archibald and his family moved to Harrison County
West Virgina, and settled on the West Fork of the Monongahelia
River in 1788 . Archibald's ancestors still live on the land to
this day . My name is Jim Morrison , and I think I have alot of
my Grandfather Archibald in me . He is my hero , as a young man
to leave dear Scotland and come to an unknown land to make a new
life for himself. That takes courage , and that's why
Grandfather Archie is my hero . The reason I'm like Grandfather
Archie , I have lived in New Jersy , West Virginia , Ohio ,
Texas ,and Florida . My wife and I will be married 30 years
July 26 , 1999 , and we plan to go to Scotland and walk where
my hero Archibald Morrison walked over 200 years ago . Linda
(my wife) and I have alot in common , her maiden name was
Cunningham , my mothers maiden name was Cummings , all good old
Scottish names , and what better reason to go to dear old
Scotland .
