| Martin Stephen brockman was born in Westenholz, Westphalia, Germany, on March 12, 1834. He came to America with his parents, Johann Bernard Brockman (12/15/1803 - 3/23/1875) and Katharina Maria Stapel (4/17/1800 - 1887)in 1842. Martin had 2 brothers, Bernard Joseph and Frank Herman, and 2 sisters, Maria and Katharina Maria that I know of. (Anna) Mary Holtforster was born in Westenholz or Delbrueck, Westphalia, Germany on March 25, 1840. She came by freighter to America with her father Bernard and one brother, unknown name, and one sister, Clara. The family settled in Lee County, Iowa. Martin and Mary were married in Fort Madison,Iowa on Oct. 19, 1858. They farmed in Pilot Grove, Iowa, until moving out to St. Stephen's Nebraska. in 1880. They lived on their farm three miles east of St. Stephen's until 1907 when they moved to Lawrence, Nuckolls County, Nebraska. Martin and Mary had twelve children. John Brockman the oldest of the twelve is my great-grandfather. I have detailed information on his family that I am willing to share. I would also like to receive any information on any of his brothers or sisters families which are Bernard, Catherine, Henry, Clara, Mary, Anna Maria, August, Frank, Ferdinand, Joseph and Adam Martin.
